Service’s for Women

Some women may not need or want refuge, but would like information and support. 1-2-1 support gives you an opportunity to talk and have someone listen to you, offering emotional support, and information, follow on referral, advocacy and accompaniment from trained staff
We provide 1-2-1 support on site and on an outreach basis.

Women’s Aid Dundalk has a 24 hour helpline that provides emotional support, information and follow on referral, advocacy and accompaniment in relation to your experiences of Domestic Violence/Coercive Control. There is always someone here to listen to you if you want to talk. Call 042 933 3244

Experienced staff can provide accompaniment for women if requested to Gardaí, Courts, GP Etc. Also advocate on behalf of women and children if requested to other agencies/professionals

Going to court or applying for a Domestic Violence Order can be confusing and appear complicated. Women’s Aid Dundalk offer Court support, both at the refuge and in the court house. Staff will meet with you on 1-2-1 basis providing support and information, explain the court process and support you in the completion of documentation required.

Women’s Aid Dundalk provides safe accommodation that will give you some breathing space. Each woman is assigned a key worker who helps her assess her needs, the needs of her children and plan for the future. Experienced staff provide support and information on a 24 hour basis and help create a warm and friendly atmosphere for women and children.

Women’s Aid Dundalk run support groups for women in crisis and post crisis. Looking at impact of Domestic Abuse/Coercive control on women and children, our basic rights, assertiveness, boundaries, healthy relationships and new beginnings and Parenting through Trauma.

Women’s Aid Dundalk provide supported housing for women and children who have experienced Domestic Violence. Tenants have a dedicated support worker providing information, support, referral, advocacy, accompaniment in relation to Domestic Violence, tenancy, legal issues, health, finances etc..

Having your own safety plan can protect you and your children. It helps to plan what you might do to maximise your safety. Staff will support you in this and discuss your options.
